Yume-korozome

A dyeing technique developed bu Yusai Okuda in 1990 after researching the clothing of former emperors in Kyoto's Koryuji. Based on the light source, ink black changes into dark red, deep blue into wine red, green into brown, and brown into reddish brown. Okuda believes that this beautiful phenomenon of changing color is a part of Japan's own unique culture. For example, Japan's tradition of "simple refinement" perceives beauty in the changin seasons.

Expressing the beauty of ever-changing nature can be called a special aspect of Japanese culture.
Thus, he considers Yume-korozome to be a technique born from the aesthetic value placed on color change by Japanese people.
